Bedlinen for Romanian hospital in Bacau
The pediatric hospital in the Romanian town of Bacau, 200 kilometers from Buzău, had an urgent need for bed covers. In order to buy these, Foundation Kinderen in Nood donated the money to our Romanian representative Mr. Alexandru Vladescu. The bed covers were manifactured in a local workshop. On July 12th 2011 Mr. Alexandru Vladescu and his wife Laura delivered the covers at the hospital in Bacau.
Visit to Romania
In May 2011 three members of the board paid a short visit to Romania.
Only when strictly necessary they make a trip like that. The goal of this trip was to visit the projects in progress, to inspect these and to deliver finished projects. Besides that the board members inspected twelve ongoing projects. And they discussed a project for next year with our representative for Romania, Mr. Alexandru Vladescu.
The foremost event was the delivery of Centre number 7, a home for disabled persons in the town of Râmnicu Sărat. The local authorities had agreed to renovate the building and had kept their word. Our foundation has provided the interior: new beds, cupboards, curtains, furniture, cloths and wheelchairs. Without this centre persons would still be wandering the streets. Now everyone had a bed, a chair and was well provided for.
Stâlpu is an institution for 30 severe mentally and physically disabled persons. Minimal age 18. We think this project has top priority. There is an urgent need for furniture, sheets, clothes and material for physical-therapy. And the laundry room had to be renovated. Our foundation decided that after the renovation we would help them by the purchase of an industrial washing machine, a dryer and an ironing machine. Total sum needed: 17,500 euro.
Message from Gusztáv Fodor dated April 5th 2011
Yesterday I have got from Afghanistan a message, from a Hospital in Pole-Kurmi.
The doctor said, that after receiving the medical supply from Stichting Kinderen in Nood, the percentage of the ill people dying, was less than before. It means, that we are saving lives in Afghanistan. It is fantastic!!!
Please, tell the volunteers this good news.
Thank You again in advance for the truck.

Gusztáv Fodor

True examples of humanity
A few weeks ago I have decided to write down, what I feel about the work of Stichting Kinderen in Nood. Here You can find my testimony about the 12 years old friendship with You. These few words are nothing for that gorgeous help, what our Hungarian nation has got from You.
The meaning of this small letter is: THANK YOU!
Thank You for your time! Thank You for the humanitarian aid! Thank You for Your energy! Thank You for Your care and love! It is privilege to work with You!
Nowadays in our world there are only few people, who know, what does it mean to give.
To give for the poor. To help the helpless. To lift up, who has fallen down. To give time, to give energy. To give, what we have. There are not so many people, who has Heart for the poor.
The leaders of Stichting Kinderen in Nood Fundation they know the art of giving, they have Heart for the poor, they know to share.
The leaders of Stichting Kinderen in Nood: they are my True Examples of Humanity.
How can I thank You for that help, what we have got from Holland? I do not know. Really. It is impossible to give back, what we got from Them! But I know, that lots of people following Them.
The gifts, what they receiving and the volunteers are the evidence of that. Their example is shining on the dark selfish world. Our dark world needs shining examples. Needs true examples of humanity. They are rich people: rich with love, rich with compassion, rich with humanity.
God bless and protect Them!
Rev. Gusztáv Fodor
Pastoral Director of Hungarian Protestant Church Aid

Wigs and breast protheses
The PAVEL organisation (organisation of parents with a child suffering from cancer) in the Romanian capital of Bucharest received from our transport of December 2nd 2010 wigs and breast prostheses. In front of the Oncologic Institute a large number of women was waiting for the distribution. Because the demand for breast prostheses is greater than we get offered, the PAVEL volunteers had to disappoint a number of women.
The PAVEL organisation received requests for clothes and toys for children over eight in poor communities near Bucharest. In Adunatii Copaceni, a poor gipsy community in Sarulesti and for an orphanage annex hospital for children and mentally disabled adults in a small village Vulcan near Brasov. That’s why PAVEL decided to offer some boxes with clothes and toys to these three causes.
The PAVEL organisation thanks everybody for their generous help.
